The Missouri River Valley Loop ("the LOOP," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at https://morivervalleyloop.com (the "Site") — a regional tourism guide for the Missouri River Valley featuring a town and business directory, event listings, maps, and interactive experiences such as the LOOP passport and scavenger hunts (the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect
Information you give us directly
- Contact / inquiry forms: name, email address, and the message or details you submit.
- Passport and experience sign-ups: name, email address, and any details needed to track your progress through a passport or scavenger hunt.
- Business "Join the LOOP" submissions: your business name, contact details, location, and the listing information you provide.
- Payments: if you pay for a paid feature (such as a business listing, promotion, or a paid experience), your payment is processed by Stripe. We receive only limited transaction details (amount, currency, status, and a payment reference). We do not receive or store your card number or other card details — Stripe handles card data directly (see §4).
Information collected automatically
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics, which sets cookies and collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser type, referring source, and interactions. See §3 and §5.
- Maps: pages with maps use Google Maps, which may collect data as described in Google's policy.
- Server and security logs: standard request data such as IP address, timestamps, and user agent, used to operate and secure the Site.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive categories of personal information, and we do not sell your personal information for money.
2. How we use information
- Respond to inquiries and provide information about the LOOP.
- Operate passports, scavenger hunts, and other interactive experiences.
- Add and maintain town and business directory listings and event information.
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Services.
- Process payments for any paid features and send receipts.
- Understand and improve Site performance (analytics).
- Detect, prevent, and address security issues, fraud, or abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Service providers and third parties
We share information only with providers that help us operate, and only as needed:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of the LOOP or others.
4. Payments
Payments for any paid features are processed by Stripe. When you pay, your card details are transmitted directly to Stripe over an encrypted connection; the LOOP does not see or store your card number or other card details. Stripe's handling of your information is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
5. Cookies and analytics
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies, primarily for Google Analytics. We show a cookie consent banner, and analytics cookies are only set after you accept. You can also:
- Opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- Decline analytics cookies using the consent banner on the Site.
We also use Cloudflare Turnstile on public forms to help detect automated abuse. Turnstile may process limited device and interaction data as described in Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
6. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain uses.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money; however, analytics cookies may be considered "sharing" under California law. To opt out, decline analytics in the consent banner, use the Google Analytics opt-out above, or email us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
To exercise any right, reach out through our contact page. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations, or to resolve disputes. Billing and transaction records may be retained longer to meet financial recordkeeping requirements.
8. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's privacy
The Site is a general-audience tourism guide and is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Third-party links
The Site links to many third-party sites we do not control, including the businesses, events, and towns listed in our directory. This Policy does not apply to those sites; review their privacy policies.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be reflected here.
